Welcome to Barefoot Sailing Club (BFSC) on Lake Lanier, Georgia.
Founded in 1971 (55 years ago!), we originally focused on dinghy racing. But, over the years have expanded much further. Members enjoy racing on cruisers and racing boats, cruising around the lake and rafting up for social activities.
Curious about sailing with us? Join us for an upcoming First Saturday Cruise or Member Social and Meeting. We look forward to meeting you!
Saturday, September 12th Cruise
Friday, September 11, 2026
Hey there fellow bare-footers,
Tomorrow is our First Saturday Brunch and Sail, and yes it’s on the second Saturday this month. Please join us at the Diner at Sugar Hill tomorrow at 10 for great food and company. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can get a sail in. I’m not overly optimistic about that though.
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Fair winds and following seas.
Best

The future of Favored End
For decades, our club pontoon has served as the backbone of our on-water events - from marking courses for race committee, to shuttling folks for Steak Out, and hauling junk for Shore Sweep. However, with a change in marina ownership ending our complimentary slip, we're asking members to weigh in on the path forward. Read more at Favored End Decision.
* Attend our Sunday, September 20th meeting where we will discuss Favored End. *
